Paediatric Specialist

Due to an increasing caseload, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist (part-time) within a leading practice in Newcastle.

The successful applicant should have experience with children with complex needs, developmental delays, and normal variants.
You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team and may be required to attend meetings and case conferences where you will be expected to communicate clearly and effectively to patients, carers and other health care professionals clearly stating findings from assessment, current treatment, outcomes and agreed plans for future patient management. Previous experience working with case management clients is desirable but not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

To be responsible for the physiotherapy management of the patient load assigned to you and to practise as an accountable professional using reflective practise and clinical reasoning in undertaking specialist assessment in order to provide an individualised treatment programme for each child in your care.
To obtain informed, valid consent on an ongoing basis which endeavours to keep the children (as is age appropriate) and their parents involved in their own health care plan.
To comply with confidentiality policies as set out by the BCH, HCPC and the CSP.
To maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely patient treatment records.
To manage clinical risk within your caseload at all times and ensure potential clinical risk is effectively communicated and managed

Key Skills

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to think on their feet. You must be caring, reassuring and confident in what you do.
You must also be able to demonstrate flexibility, good time management skills, organisational skills, and evidence of self-motivation.

Hours are negotiable but after school hours will be needed for some clients.

All applicants must be HCPC registered.


MSK Physiotherapist

Due to an increasing caseload, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist (part-time) within a leading practice in Consett.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide high quality physiotherapy including assessment, treatment and advice to patients with MSK related problems.
To formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice including; manual and electrotherapy techniques, therapeutic handling, patient education, exercise classes, and other alternative options.
To assess and treat own caseload of patients and maintain associated records as an autonomous practitioner with support from senior staff.
To be responsible for maintenance of accurate written and electronic records, involving comprehensive progress and discharge reports, in line with CSP and HCPC standards.
To undertake all necessary verbal and written documentation required for patient care.
To formulate goals/clinical objectives with patients / carers / relatives and other health professionals and continually re-assess patients to evaluate progress and alter treatment programmes accordingly.
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their work including the management of patients in their care and to seek advice from senior staff as appropriate.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

CSP and HCPC registration
Relevant Physiotherapy degree
Previous MSK Physiotherapy experience

Employed and self employed contracts would be available for this post.
